Bracelets for One

As the days go by and we get one step closer to finally meeting our newest daughter we get more and more excited.  We pray for her every day - whoever she is - knowing that God knows and has chosen her already to a part of our family.  We anticipate with joy her arrival into our home, she is already in our hearts. We pray for those caring for her in an orphanage in China somewhere, we pray for her nanny and her doctors and all who touch her life. We pray that this period of waiting will pass quickly and we pray that God will provide the funds needed to complete the adoption.

So today I am excited to share about Bracelets for One.  Each bracelet is hand-made by me, each and every loving stitch created with our daughter in mind!  You have another opportunity to help change the life of One Precious Child - help to minister to an orphan who is waiting for her family - AND you get something back - a beautiful bracelet to remind you every time you wear it of the girl you help bring home.

I am posting pictures here of the bracelets that I have all ready to go - my "inventory", but I will be making many more and welcome special orders or suggestions! I am setting a goal of selling 200 bracelets - can you help?  Purchase them for yourself, for gifts (Mother's Day is coming!), share them with your friends and family - PLEASE share the badge I've posted on the left sidebar directing people to this post! The more people the see this, the closer we can get to that goal of 200 bracelets sold!

If you would like a specific color of bead or leather, please email me and we will make it happen! Each bracelet is slightly different as they are handmade, and most have at least 2 settings (unless noted) for an adjustable fit.  Each are between a 7" and 8" fit, but please contact me for specific sizing if you are unsure.  This first set of bracelets all have a vintage button closure (taken from my grandmother's button box) which makes them even more special I think! (Once these are sold, the button closures will be different - but still pretty!)  Each bracelet is $25.99 (which does not include USPS Priority Mail shipping of $5.60).

To order, please email me jjmasse at sacoriver dot net telling me which bracelet you would like and your address. I will simply ask that you make a donation via our YouCaring fundraising website in the amount of $31.59 for one bracelet. For multiple orders I will send you a total.

I have to say this one is so much prettier IRL!  The beads have an aurora borealis coating that makes them iridescent!

Nostalgia

Another one that looks prettier IRL!  The beads are warm and cool tones complementing each other perfectly. Colors include purple, light blue, light yellow, and a coppery-gold metallic shade.  A great neutral that will go with everything!!

Monday 4-28-14 Update

We have news for this update! Yea! We received a call last week from our social worker at the home study agency and are now scheduled to meet with her for the first 2 interviews. This Thursday, May 1, Is the day! The home visit will be scheduled then and we will be well on our way to completing this phase.

Once the home study is completed we can start applying for grants, do more fundraising, and most importantly, looking at case files with our agency! Can't wait to see who God will place in our family!

I have been doing lots of work at home, cleaning, trying to declutter, and lots and lots of painting! It's funny the things you see when you look at your house through a different "lens". I keep seeing areas to paint, nicked doorways and doors. However, once I finish an area I realize the wall needs attention - LOL! Can't do it all I suppose.

My focus this week will hopefully be on cleaning/decluttering our back porch
(aka winter storage area!) and then start on our room upstairs. I wouldn't trade my old farmhouse for anything but it sure makes organization difficult when you have hardly any closet space! :). I've come to the conclusion that for me, adoption has been a good motivator for doing things that have gone undone for too long (sad right!).

4/14/14 Monday Update

Hello!  I'm going to try to post updates every Monday - even if there isn't much going on - just so that there will be some type of continuous record of how things are progressing. We have been waiting to have out social worker assigned for the home study. The huge packet of information (everything from birth certificates, to bank statements to insurance documents) was gathered and mailed out 2 weeks ago and the next step is to meet with the social workers for family and individual interviews.

I received an email today telling us who our social worker is and that we'll be meeting her the first week of May!  This is so exciting!!  The sooner we can get this phase completed the sooner we can begin looking at case files - one step closer to being matched with our little girl!!

Also, this weekend we received our adoption mailers from the printer. I'll begin mailing out packets to friends and family soon.  If you'd like one, please let me know!!

So this Monday has been pretty great! Progress is being made and we are so thankful!
